James D. Brownlie

President

James D. Brownlie has extensive, multi-generational experience in the international and independent United States oil and natural gas business. Financed by N.M. Rothschild and in partnership with Amoco, Messrs. Brownlie and Childs jointly developed the Opon Association Contract in the Middle Magdalena Valley of Colombia, a $500 million integrated natural gas and condensate project. Messrs. Brownlie and Childs qualified and participated in major bid rounds in Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and most recently the United Kingdom, where Opon was awarded five offshore Central North Sea licenses in the 25th Seaward Licensing Round. Mr. Brownlie is the owner of numerous special purpose companies in the United States and, in partnership with Mr. Childs, those companies consummated several major acquisition transactions and developed numerous projects across a variety of geologic regions including the Eagle Ford shale in Texas, the Codell and Niobrara formations in Colorado and the Bakken shale in North Dakota. Mr. Brownlie also administered four major mineral and royalty acquisition programs targeting the Bakken and Niobrara formations. Prior to 1987, Mr. Brownlie practiced oil and natural gas transactional law. Mr. Brownlie holds a B.A. in Petroleum Land Management and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.
